Manufacture date estimate
An exact production year cannot be reliably determined from the supplied photos alone. There is a number visible on the back, but it is not clear enough in the photos to responsibly assign an exact production year.
Based on the reference L4.908.4, the La Grande Classique execution, and the Longines L591.2 caliber used, I estimate this piece dates from around 2005–2012.
This dating should be regarded as a well-founded estimate and not a guaranteed production year.
──────────────────
Case
The case is finished in polished stainless steel and features the characteristic design of the La Grande Classique range.
Longines designed this collection around a particularly slim and elegant case profile. Instead of conventional, clearly protruding lugs, the case runs almost entirely around, with the bracelet attached at compact lugs.
The diameter is about 36 mm, giving the watch a classic dress-watch size. The thin bezel makes the dial appear relatively large in relation to the case.
The entire upper surface of the case and bezel has a high-polish finish.
In the detail photos there are light superficial scratches and normal wear marks. Around the crown and on the side of the case there are a few slightly more noticeable small scratches. However, there are no heavy dents or major damage visible.
──────────────────
Dial
The dial is one of the most distinctive parts of this watch.
The silver/white background features a very fine, swirling guilloché pattern. The lines run from the center outward and create a striking optical effect depending on viewing angle and light.
As a result, the dial can look almost pure white in some photos, while from another angle the relief is much more pronounced.
The hours are indicated by elongated black Roman numerals. These are deliberately very fine to match the watch’s elegant character.
Below 12 o'clock lies the LONGINES inscription and the well-known winged hourglass logo.
Above 6 o'clock is AUTOMATIC, and at the very bottom of the dial is SWISS.
In the supplied photos the dial looks particularly neat. There are no obvious stains, discolorations, or damage visible.
──────────────────
Hands and time display
This version has a particularly minimalist time display.
The watch only has an hour and minute hand. A central second hand is absent, and there is no date window.
The two very slim dark hands provide a clear contrast with the light guilloché dial.
This simple two-hand configuration greatly contributes to the classic and formal character of the La Grande Classique.
──────────────────
Movement
Type: Automatic mechanical
Caliber: Longines L591.2
Frequency: 28,800 A/h
Functions in this version: Hours and minutes
In the back photo, the L591.2 designation is clearly visible on the movement.
Through the round transparent display window in the case back, a large portion of the movement can be viewed. The movement features decorative finishing and Longines-signing.
The automatic rotor ensures the watch is wound by turning the wrist during wear.
──────────────────
Timegrapher measurement
The watch was tested on a timegrapher. The supplied photo shows the following values:
Rate deviation: -17 seconds per day
Amplitude: 235°
Beat error: 0.3 ms
Frequency: 28,800 A/h
Lift angle setting: 52.0°
The measured beat error of 0.3 ms is relatively modest. The measured rate deviation of about -17 seconds per day at the time of testing means the watch was running slightly late during this test.
Amplitude measured at 235 degrees.
A timegrapher measurement is always a snapshot. Actual performance can vary depending on e.g. watch position, winding, temperature, and wear conditions. The stated values should not be regarded as a guarantee of daily accuracy.
──────────────────
Case back
The case back has a polished stainless steel finish with a central round transparent viewing window.
Through this window, the automatic Longines L591.2 caliber is visible.
Around the viewing window are several fasteners/screws and various engraved markings.
The polished case back shows light superficial wear consistent with normal use. No heavy damage is visible in the photos.
──────────────────
Crown
The crown is relatively small, appropriate for the slim case profile.
The crown has a grooved edge for grip when setting the time and is externally signed with the Longines winged hourglass logo.
In the detail photo there are a few light signs of wear around the crown and the adjacent area of the case.
The crown itself otherwise looks neat and fitting for the watch.
──────────────────
Band
The watch is equipped with an original Longines stainless steel band with a large number of small links.
This finely linked construction suits the elegant character of the La Grande Classique and ensures the bracelet sits smoothly around the wrist.
The band is fully stainless steel and combines different polished surfaces, creating a beautiful reflective effect under light.
The connection to the case is characteristic of the La Grande Classique and forms an almost seamless overall look with the slim case.
In the photos there are light superficial wear marks, but the band generally looks well cared for.
──────────────────
Clasp
The band is fitted with an original Longines butterfly/clasp.
On the clasp, both LONGINES and the winged hourglass logo are clearly visible.
Due to the butterfly mechanism, the clasp remains relatively compact when closed and hardly interrupts the bracelet’s elegant appearance.
The clasp also shows only light superficial wear.
──────────────────
Wrist size
The provided size photo shows the watch mounted on a wrist-size cone.
Based on this, the current bracelet configuration seems suitable for a wrist size of approximately 17.5–18 cm.
The exact maximum wrist size may vary slightly depending on the position of the clasp and any present or removed links.

Overall condition
An elegant and particularly classical Longines La Grande Classique Automatic with a beautiful silver/white guilloché dial, black Roman numerals, and full stainless steel construction.
The watch stands out mainly for its very slim case construction and minimalist two-hand configuration. The absence of a date window and seconds hand keeps the dial very calm, while the fine wavy guilloché pattern provides much visual depth.
Cosmetically, the watch appears in a neat used condition based on the photos. The high-polish polished case shows light signs of wear, with some more noticeable marks around the crown. The dial and glass, however, look very well cared for. The original finely linked Longines band and signed butterfly clasp are also present.
The automatic Longines L591.2 caliber is visible through the transparent case back. During the supplied timegrapher test, a rate deviation of -17 seconds per day was measured, with an amplitude of 235° and a beat error of 0.3 ms. These values are a snapshot and do not guarantee daily accuracy.
