Rare and refined nineteenth-century French wax case (étui à cire), made of gilded silver and finely worked by hand.
The object features an elegant elongated form with a polygonal cross-section, with a removable cap. The entire surface is richly decorated through chasing and engraving, with floral and vegetal motifs arranged within longitudinal reserves, alternating with refined geometric bands and finely dotted backgrounds.
