There is nothing older in Caol Ila’s core range: at 25 years, this represents the pinnacle of maturation. Those familiar with the 12-year-old will recognize the familiar character—only paced more leisurely, deeper, and with noticeably more spice derived from maturation.

Aroma: Freshly grated lemon zest and sweet fruits combine with toffee, campfire smoke, and fresh machine oil. Notes of caramel, malt candies, and a gentle maritime breeze follow.

Taste: A creamy to oily texture; initially soft and sweet, featuring juicy fruit notes and elegant wine characteristics. Spicy oak tones, honey-glazed smoked bacon, and hazelnut cream then progressively emerge.

Finish: Long, oily, and characterized by lingering sweet smoke. An Islay whisky that is a must-try—and one that practically pours itself another glass.
