Description from the seller
Beautiful original unpublished painting by contemporary artist Sergio Zampieri (Rome, 1968).
"The Song of the Sirens"
Oil and acrylic pastes on canvas
In this work, Sergio Zampieri reinterprets the Homeric myth of the sirens, turning it into a vision suspended between seduction, mystery, and the power of nature. The three figures emerge like apparitions from a deep sea, while the golden light crossing the sky gives the scene a nearly sacramental, timeless dimension.
Particularly evocative is the contrast between the depth of the marine blues and the tactile brightness of the background, achieved through metallic acrylic pastes in the tones of gold, bronze, copper, and pearl white. A living surface, destined to change with the tilt of the light and the point of view, making the work even more engaging in person.
“The Song of the Sirens” thus becomes a contemporary tribute to Homer’s Odyssey and to the universal force of its imagination, today once again at the center of international attention also thanks to Christopher Nolan’s cinematic reinterpretation. A work in which ancient myth and contemporary sensibility meet, restoring the intact timeless and irresistible charm of the call of the sirens.
The work is archived and permanently visible on the artist’s official site www.sergiozampieri.it where you can obtain further information about his artistic path.
