Centerpiece / fruit bowl in gilded bronze and relief-embossed glass – Louis XV / Rococo style – ca. 1880–1920

Elegant centerpiece or ornamental fruit bowl, executed in gilded bronze, with a large circular bowl in transparent molded and relief-embossed glass.

The bowl features floral decoration with roses, leaves and radial motifs, gilded edge cut and wavy, resting on an elaborate metal framework. The central stem is richly ornamented with vegetal elements, shell motifs, flowers and scrolls characteristic of Rococo / Louis XV Revival taste.

The base, with a dynamic outline, presents extensive relief decoration with flowers, acanthus leaves, volutes and ornamental reserves. Four scroll arms extend laterally under the bowl, enhancing the piece’s decorative exuberance.

At the center, the bowl is crowned by a large pierced bronze handle, composed of symmetrical volutes and floral motifs, allowing for transport and simultaneously constituting an important decorative element.

The combination of gilded bronze with strong sculptural character and the transparency of the glass produces an especially elegant effect, typical of ornamental objects destined for tables and sideboards of bourgeois European households in the late 19th century.
