Vase - Crystal - Hand-polished, 19th century

Magnificent 19th-century hand-cut crystal vase, probably English or Anglo-Irish.

The vase is richly decorated with a strawberry-diamond pattern, deep geometric facets, and pronounced fan cuts along the upper rim. The heavy square foot is fully cut on the underside with a radial star/sunburst motif.

The combination of form, cutting, and foot sits well within the English and Anglo-Irish tradition of 19th-century cut crystal. It may date from the first half of the 19th century.

With a height of 41 cm and a weight of about 4.1 kg, this is a particularly impressive piece.

Condition
Good antique condition with normal signs of age. Small chip on the inner side of one of the fan cuts at the upper rim, visible in the detail photo.
