After stretching onto a wooden frame, the visible format is approximately 160 × 99 cm. The final measurements may vary slightly depending on the thickness of the wooden frame used.
“Misty Light” from the Birch Reflections series depicts a quiet birch landscape where light, natural textures, and a deliberately restrained color palette merge.
Light, almost silvery birch trunks emerge from a multi-layered beige, greige, and soft earth-toned background. Deep green foliage forms a loose canopy at the top, creating a striking contrast to the calm, bright surroundings. A diffuse glow between the trees enhances the atmospheric depth and recalls light filtering through fine morning mist.
The landscape is intentionally not rendered in minute detail. Some contours dissolve almost into the background, while dark lines of birch bark and fine, graphically effective branches provide targeted accents. Thus, a dynamic interplay between clarity and blur, proximity and distance, emerges.
A special role is played by the surface texture of the painting. Parts of the foliage are worked with impasto and relief, giving the individual leaves a palpable plasticity and casting fine shadows under sidelight, which adds depth and liveliness to the tree canopy.
The multi-layered background also responds to changing light conditions. Depending on the viewing angle and lighting, cooler gray-beige tones or warmer, subtly shimmering sand and gold hues become more prominent. As a result, the painting subtly changes its effect throughout the day and can look somewhat different under different light.
Thanks to the combination of a large format, calm composition, natural color palette, and textured surface, Misty Light is particularly suitable for modern, minimalist, Japandi, and Contemporary interiors. Despite its size, the work exudes a light, meditative aura and can function as either a focal centerpiece or a serene atmospheric element in a room.
The painting is shipped unframed and rolled. The canvas is carefully wrapped around a sturdy cardboard tube and then protected inside a robust outer cardboard box.
About the Artist
Alla Faber lives and works in Hamburg. For several years she has dedicated herself to abstract and modern painting, creating large-scale works that balance stillness and movement, structure and lightness.
Her preferred materials are acrylic paints, texture gels, and metal foils — combined in fine, often multi-layered compositions. Through delicate transitions, harmonious color gradients, and light reflections, her works create space rather than dominate it, filling it with quiet presence.
Her artistic practice follows the concept “So sounds the Silence” — a painterly exploration of the moment between sound and silence. In this silence, for Faber, there is not emptiness but a living power: the breathing of light, the whisper of colors, the gentle pulse of the room.
Her works have already been shown in several exhibitions in Hamburg and are now in private collections across Europe, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates.
