Abstract work titled Abstract werkje by Sonia Redi (XX), an oil painting signed and dated 1997, small in size (19 x 22 cm) with a passe-partout opening of 10 x 7 cm, sold with frame and originating from Lebanon, in excellent condition and from the period 1990–2000.
Description from the seller
This painting is an early, abstract oil work by the Lebanese artist Sonia Redi (also spelled Sonia Al-Radi or Sonia Radi). On the bottom right, the canvas is clearly signed by her and dated in the year 1997.
Sonia Redi is known for her abstract-expressionist compositions. Her art style is characterized by a thick, paste-like impasto texture in which the surface texture and brushstrokes are clearly visible and tangible on the canvas. Theme: Her abstract art often serves as an inner journey and an exploration of light, time and depth. Many of her works from this particular period (late 1990s) bear French titles such as "Résonnance des profondeurs" (1996) or "Lieu, temps, lumière" (1997). Her oil paintings from this period regularly appear at auctions for modern and contemporary art from the Middle East (such as the Lebanese auction house Arcache Auction). Larger canvases of her hand are typically valued and sold between $1,000 and $5,000 USD, depending on dimensions and the state of the work.
Inner size of the mat: 10 x 7 cm. This is therefore a small work by the artist!
