Osvaldo Provvidone (1920 – 2013) Italian painter. Born in Novara, he was a visual artist capable of distinguishing himself in the Italian contemporary art scene through a continuous and passionate stylistic research. His training has roots in the fervent post-war season: he studied at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, with two masters of the caliber of Felice Casorati and Enrico Paolucci serving as beacons, electing the latter as his direct guide. After teaching in Turin at the State Institute of Figure Drawing and Fashion (then led by Italo Cremona) and, later, in high schools and technical institutes in his Novara, Provvidone fully embraced exhibition activity. Since the sixties he began to accumulate significant recognitions, among which the victory of the second prize for tempera at the I Roman Biennial of Contemporary Art in 1967 stands out.
