Description from the seller
Elegant and imposing pedestal cup (pedestal bowl) made by Wedgwood in the iconic Jasperware Pale Blue, decorated with finely molded white bas-reliefs inspired by neoclassicism.
The exterior surface features allegories and scenes of classical mythological figures interspersed with trees and vegetation, enriched by a floral garland along the rim and a leaf pattern on the base.
Marks: Original impressed mark "WEDGWOOD" clearly visible on the bottom/inner edge of the foot.
Condition: The stoneware structure is solid and free from chips or cracks in the reliefs. A patina of conservation/residue is noted on the inner upper part of the rim, typical of the era and easily cleanable.
A piece of furniture with great presence, perfect both as a centerpiece and to complete a collection of fine English porcelain and stoneware.
