An interesting self-portrait by the French painter Yves Dieÿ, at a stage of full artistic maturity. The composition presents the artist in the foreground, with elegant dark attire and a sober introspective demeanor, resolved against a neutral background in warm tones that reinforce the psychological intensity of the portrait.
The work stands out for its balanced compositional construction, the subtle modeling of the face, and a confident brushwork, particularly visible in the handling of flesh tones, clothing, and luminous nuances.
