Description from the seller

DRUM NIGHT is a painting by Flavia Delgado that combines the energy of Pop Art with the graphic aesthetics of music posters and retro comics. The composition features a drummer in full performance, captured at a moment of maximum intensity, surrounded by the strong visual presence of the drums and large typography integrated into the scene.

The work is dominated by a vibrant red, set against electric blue, black, and cream tones. The thick black outlines, simplified shapes, and explosive lines in the background convey movement, rhythm, and sound, turning the music into an almost visual experience.

With echoes of Pop Art, American comics, and the concert and club poster art of the 20th century, Drum Night celebrates musical culture and the on-stage energy of rock. A piece especially appealing to collectors of contemporary pop art, music, rock, drums, comics, and vintage poster art.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
