Gianni Baranello (1951) - Madonna

Splendid oil painting on canvas depicting the "Madonna with Child", a work by the renowned Italian figurative painter Gianni Baranello (born in Monterotondo, Rome, in 1951).
The work delicately reprises the classical devotional iconography of sacred motherhood. The faces of the Virgin and the Child Jesus are characterized by soft shading and deep chiaroscuro that recall the great Renaissance painting tradition, enriched by the symbolic presence of the white lily, emblem of purity.
The painting bears the artist's contracted signature on the front, at the lower right edge, and is extensively signed on the back with the indication of the title ("Child") and the technique ("Oil on canvas").
