Elegant and imposing complete dinnerware service made of fine Bavarian porcelain from the historic Wunsiedel manufactory (Retsch & Co. Bavaria). The design is classic and regal: the pure white background is framed by a double, intense cobalt blue band, interspersed and embellished with a rich geometric and floral gold Greek key. The gold finish is also found along the perimeter rim threading and on the details of the tureen and serving plates. A scenographic and highly elegant service, ideal for formal mise en place and special occasion dinners.

The Wunsiedel Manufactory (Bavaria, Germany) The ceramic tradition of Wunsiedel, in the heart of the Bavarian district, goes back to the late 19th century with the foundation of the famous Retsch & Co. manufactory (represented by the shield with the crowned “R”). During the 20th century, the company stood out for the excellent quality of hard-paste porcelain and for the mastery of decorations in gold ribbon and cobalt blue. The green mark on the back (Wunsiedel R Bavaria Germany) identifies classic production from the second half of the 20th century (approximately the 60s/70s), a period of peak expansion and prestige for tableware destined for the international market.

Condition
The service presents itself in excellent vintage condition. The porcelain maintains its luster and whiteness, while the cobalt blue pigment retains all its original vibrancy. The rich gold work along the rims and Greek-key motifs is well preserved, crisp and bright, with minimal, negligible signs of time related to age and conservative use. No chips or fraying observed on the main pieces.
