“Gracia”
This mixed-media work explores the boundary between the human figure and abstraction. Through a composition focused on the face and the delicate gesturality of the hands, the piece invites the viewer to a serene introspective experience. The raised chin and the elegance of the posture convey confidence, dignity, and openness, while the hands become a subtle language of expression and presence. The title, Gracia, refers to that quality that transcends appearance: a way of inhabiting oneself with serenity, elegance, and authenticity. The figure is not presented from fragility, but from a conscious and affirmative presence, where the dialogue between color, material, and form builds a feminine image that finds beauty in its own essence and projects a sense of elevation, fullness, and inner freedom.

Vida AMReyes. (Granma, Cuba 1991) discovered from a very young age that drawing was not just a pastime, but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There she consolidated an exceptional technical command in oil painting, acrylics, and life drawing—foundations that later would shape her conceptual signature.
Her early years of career unfolded amid Cuban cultural fervor, actively participating in youth art salons and group exhibitions. Her work quickly began to stand out: in salons and exhibitions she obtained numerous prizes and mentions.
AMReyes’s work is distinguished by a visceral and imposing realism that captures the eye at once. However, her proposal does not stay at mere photographic mimesis. On anatomies worked with rigor or faces charged with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories, and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the bearer, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or garments laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and the everyday figure are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity.
This fusion between technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the way to her international projection. Over the last decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in:
