Caterina Lemma(Katy) - Love LV Dreams

To create this painting I drew inspiration from the Disney world; everything is the fruit of my improvisation—there is nothing pre-set. I let myself be carried by the emotions and my strong passion for my beloved Disney characters.

This painting is suitable for modern homes or children's rooms or anywhere you want to enjoy the liveliness of its colors. Technique: acrylic and spray can with a liquid matte varnish finish from Liquitex on panel.

It is conceptual art, an original work signed by the artist on the back of the painting.

With this painting the artist wanted to pay homage to one of her favorite singers. Recently she produced for Martini, the beverage multinational, a series of 10 reproductions of vintage advertising posters from the 1920s to be distributed in bars in Italy, and she displays her paintings in a gallery in Brera, Milan.

This work was created directly in my studio. The piece will be carefully packed and shipped with a traceability code.

Imagine a large panel exploding with visual energy, where the language of pop art meets the nostalgic imagination of cartoons from the 80s and 90s. The background is built in layers with spray: vibrant patches of fuchsia, electric yellow, and cobalt blue overlap in urban gradients, creating a dynamic, almost pulsating base, like a city wall transformed into a dream.

On this backdrop stand out, with dense glossy acrylics, the iconic faces and figures from childhood: Disney characters and cartoon protagonists intertwine in a choral, fragmented yet harmonious composition. The outlines are sharp, bold in black, typical of pop art, while the details are exaggerated and loaded: large, bright eyes, theatrical expressions, smiles frozen in an age-less time.

Here and there emerge graphic elements: polka dots, stripes, comic explosions, and onomatopoeic words that seem to come out of the panel surface. The mixed technique is evident: the soft, blended spray converses with the almost illustrative precision of the acrylic, creating textural contrasts that catch the eye.

The work conveys a sense of continuous movement, as if the characters were still living their adventures in a space suspended between memory and contemporary pop culture. It is a visual homage to the lightness of childhood, but also an explosion of color and sign that asserts the iconic power of those images, transforming them into living, current urban art.
