Alfonso Papi

Alfonso Papi is an Italian painter born in 1931 in Castellina Marittima and active mainly in Livorno. He was a pupil of Voltolino Fontani at the Libera Accademia delle Belle Arti Trossi Uberti in Livorno. His painting is rooted in the Tuscan tradition and heavily influenced by the Labronica School, post-Macchiaioli and post-Impressionist. He prefers the landscapes of the Tuscan hinterland, captured with a lyrical vision, immediate brushstrokes, and vibrant colors.
