AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

BLUE HORSE is a painting by Flavia Delgado that combines the visual strength of Pop Art with the aesthetics of vintage sports posters. The work depicts a polo player in full action atop an intense blue horse, capturing a moment of speed, power, and competitive tension.

The composition is built with energetic black outlines, flat colors, and very bold contrasts. The electric blue of the horse dominates the scene and confronts the red of the attire and the orange strokes of the background, while the large word “POLO” transforms the image into a poster with strong graphic presence.

The representation of movement, gestural lines, and the almost screen-printed treatment connect the work with classic comics, mid-20th-century sports advertising, and the visual language of Pop Art, reinterpreted from a contemporary painting.

Blue Horse is especially appealing to collectors of pop art, polo and equestrian sports, horses, vintage posters, figurative painting, and retro graphic design.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
