Vintage chrome wall coat rack with hat rack – Mid-Century – 1950s/60s – 8 adjustable hooks
A particularly decorative and functional vintage wall coat rack from probably the 1950s–1960s, made in an elegant combination of chromed metal and a cream-colored wooden back plate.
This type of wall coat rack is characteristic of European interior design from the mid-twentieth century. Comparable Dutch models from this period were made with chrome tube frames, a hat shelf, multiple hooks, and a wooden back panel.
The design immediately catches the eye with its slender, glossy chrome work and beautifully rounded lines. At the top there is a generous hat and resting shelf formed by parallel metal bars. Such racks were intended for hats, scarves, and other accessories and are characteristic of wall wardrobes from this period.
