Emilie Pannier aka Mia, a French contemporary painter, has been developing for several years a distinctive body of work at the crossroads of genre painting, urban landscape, and social observation.
Her painting is, above all, figurative; it situates itself in the lineage of "Scenes of Everyday Life," exploring themes related to urban life, the street, its anonymity, and daily life.
Mia works in series, thus building a repertoire of images that bear witness to our time, in search of a sublimation of the anecdotal and the moment.

It is through a precise handling of color and light that the pictorial comes into play.
She enjoys blending tenses by citing historical works and merging them with her contemporary scenography, a method for her to recall that History is built.

Each canvas is an open window onto reality, a still image where light, colors, and architecture interlace. By exploring the constant metamorphoses of urban spaces, she questions how humans inhabit, traverse, or shape these places.
