Decorative vase / cachepot in quadrangular form, resting on four small molded feet.
French, from Faiencerie d'Onnaing.
Late 19th century (circa 1890), transitioning to the Art Nouveau style.
Majolica / fine tin-glazed earthenware (barbotine) with relief-decorated designs. Bright polychrome glaze with characteristic runs of the period.
Side panels with geometric and textured reliefs, decorated with a central floral motif (chrysanthemum or dahlia) in aubergine/purple tones, flanked by tulips or stylized flowers in blue and green tones. Interior entirely glazed in a vivid turquoise blue.
Features the model number "104" printed/embossed on the glazed base.
Shows natural crazing of the glaze due to age. Small and discreet glaze flaws at the edges and on the feet, usual for this type of antique earthenware. No hairline cracks or restorations.
