Biography - WENC

I am a painter and architect based in Brussels. My practice unfolds across a multiplicity of supports: exterior walls, facades, construction materials, but also paper, canvas and found objects. My research rests on a method of observation and recording. Wandering — visual and physical — is the starting point. I observe, I collect, I record: photographs, drawings, diagrams, descriptive texts, herbariums — then I archive. My research notebooks become the fragmented anatomy of my memories. My practice is built in this in-between — between collection and memory — as much in the intimacy of the studio as on the walls of the city. I try to maintain this balance: to create, through mural painting, forms accessible to all, while continuing a studio and artistic research practice.
