*A highly respected figure in the art of hunting, venery, and wildlife. He is a field painter, described by his contemporaries as a “very good observer hunting painter.” He spent a great deal of time in the forest and in the plains to capture the anatomical and behavioral truth of game.

He was a very regular exhibitor at the Salons of the Société des Artistes Orléanais, a region (Loiret, Sologne) historically linked to hunting traditions and to painting of wild nature
