Physical globe - Dutch Zwolle - 1970-1980

Original vintage world globe from the Eerste Nederlandsche Globe Industrie, Zwolle, produced as an illuminated tabletop globe. The globe features blue cartography with relief depiction, land- and place-names in Dutch, elevation and depth indicators, and a transparent plastic meridian ring. It rests on a black plastic base with a concentric edge decoration.

On the globe is, among other things, the inscription: “Eerste Nederlandsche Globe Industrie Zwolle”, scale 1:51,000,000, and “Made in Italy by Ricci Florence”. This indicates that the cartographic globe was produced in Italy by Ricci Florence, for or on commission by the Dutch Globe Industry in Zwolle. The base and finish are characteristic of the Dutch production/distribution from the mid-20th century.
