In its original state presumably Java

An Angklung consists of two tuned bamboo tubes
as they move side to side, a warm sound is produced.
A rack usually consists of 8 angklungs for one person with scales,
a full group of angklungs (28) forms more scales
(then each player has the same number).

Originated circa the 13th century in western Java, it is a so-called per-instrument; the form has hardly changed over the years
