Description from the seller
Laura is a young Cuban artist with formal training, graduated from the prestigious National Academy of Fine Arts San Alejandro in Havana, Cuba, one of the country's most traditional institutions in artistic education. Her work stems from a deeply personal relationship with nature, a connection cultivated since childhood by growing up in an environment close to the fields and natural areas on the outskirts of Havana.
That vital closeness to the landscape, the flowers, the vegetation, and the atmosphere of the surroundings has become the core of her pictorial language. In her work, Laura does not limit herself to depicting gardens, meadows, or flowering fields as decorative motifs: she transforms them into spaces of contemplation, peace, and sensitivity, where color, light, and pictorial matter build a direct emotional experience.
Her production focuses especially on flowers, landscapes, and natural scenes, approached from an intimate and poetic perspective. They are works that convey calm, harmony, beauty, and reverence, but at the same time possess notable visual force thanks to her mastery of color and the intensity of the brushstroke. The artist recreates, from her own sensibility, that natural universe that has marked her life and memory, turning it into painting of recognizable identity.
One of the most notable features of her work is precisely the treatment of color. In her compositions there are abundant pinks, mauves, violets, turquoises, greens, yellows, and intense reds, articulated with great freedom and freshness. Laura builds vibrant, luminous, and enveloping surfaces, where color not only describes the scene but animates it and endows it with its own energy. Her paintings achieve a very attractive balance between delicacy and vitality.
From a technical standpoint, Laura works mainly in oil on canvas and also in acrylic on canvas, using a loose, textural, and expressive brushwork, with echoes of impressionism and certain expressive-ism accents. That brushstroke, nervous yet controlled, provides texture, rhythm, and movement to the pictorial surface. The matter takes the lead and makes the flowers, the paths, the reflections of the water, or the background landscapes not static, but alive and pulsing.
In many of her works there is a special interest in atmosphere: soft horizons, blooming gardens, open paths, ponds, fields in full bloom, or clusters of vegetation that seem to breathe within the painting. The composition often guides the eye naturally, inviting the viewer to enter that pictorial space and linger there. That ability to suggest silence, freshness, air, light, and calm is one of the most valuable virtues of her work.
Laura’s painting also stands out for its decorative capacity in the best sense of the term, that is, for its power to visually enrich a space without losing artistic value. Her works possess notable chromatic presence, genuine sensitivity, and solid execution, making them particularly attractive pieces for both lovers of contemporary art and new collectors seeking a luminous, accessible work with projection.
Artistically, what is most interesting about Laura is that she combines academic training, chromatic intuition, and a sensitive personal voice. Her paintings do not rely solely on good technique: they reveal an artist painting from an authentic interior experience, from a careful observation of the natural world, and from a clear will to convey emotion through landscape and flowers.
Her works have been well received by audiences and are part of private collections, as well as various circuits of artistic diffusion. Her work continues to gain visibility inside and outside Cuba, arousing interest for the visual power of her compositions and for the honesty of her plastic language. She is a young, active, growing creator, whose artistic evolution appears particularly promising.
Acquiring a work by Laura represents an opportunity to add to a collection the work of a young, professionally trained Cuban artist with clear projection, whose painting offers beauty, sensitivity, and a deeply human relationship with nature. Her work transmits peace, color, and fullness, while also revealing an artistic personality in consolidation, capable of dialoguing with the tradition of floral landscape painting from a contemporary and personal voice.
In Laura’s work, nature is not merely contemplated: it is felt, breathed, and becomes pictorial emotion.

This charming work in contemporary impressionist style, created in acrylic on canvas, represents an exuberant wild meadow in full bloom that extends toward a panoramic view of the coastal horizon. The foreground captivates with its rich texture and color, where bright yellow and orange flowers contrast harmoniously with stylized lavender and violet spikes, applied with dense brushstrokes and small spatulas. As the eye moves toward the background, the meadow gives way to a row of pine trees and dense green vegetation that frame the blue band of the sea under a sky bathed in the warm light of the sun. The work stands out for its brilliant play of complementary colors between the warm tones of the flowers and the cool hues of the sky and wild flora, conveying an atmosphere of serenity, vitality, and pure connection with nature.
