Description from the seller

Unique and original work painted by hand by Raphaël Monnet

Raphaël Monnet develops contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes matter, rhythm and movement.

He approaches the canvas as an space of experimentation. The painting is projected, accumulated and confronted with opposing colors. The impacts intersect, some areas densify while others allow the background to breathe.

His process does not rely on a pre-prepared image, but on progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance emerges between apparent disorder and pictorial organization.

Based in the Léo Varek atelier in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around projection and the superposition of colors. His works have an immediate presence at a distance and reveal, when you approach, a multitude of details, nuances and unexpected encounters between pigments.

Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of the projections, the distribution of matter and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically.

Format and presentation

The indicated dimensions correspond to the total size of the canvas. A painted peripheral section is intended to be folded over the sides of the frame, without encroaching on the main composition.

Some images show the work in situ to facilitate its projection into an interior. They are created with the ArtStage layout software, which makes IA mockups. Proportions may vary slightly depending on the staging. Please refer to the dimensions indicated in the description to know the actual size of the work.

The edges are partially painted and allow for a clean finish after mounting.

Shipping

The work is shipped rolled in a rigid protective packaging, without stretcher or frame.

Slight creases may appear upon receipt. This is perfectly normal for a canvas shipped rolled. These marks naturally disappear when the canvas is tensioned.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas mounted on a frame by a local framer.

Shipments are carried out by express courier — DHL, FedEx or equivalent — with tracking until delivery.

Some destinations may incur additional shipping charges beyond my control. In that case, the buyer will be informed before shipment to adjust the charges if necessary. Without confirmation of these charges, shipment cannot be made.

Additional information

Colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and shooting conditions.
Framing and frame not included.
