Sagrasse – APPLE, a sculpture in resin and marble powder, edition Illusion, 2024, dimensions 38 × 34 × 5 cm.
Description from the seller
Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and chrome finishing.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and suspended time transform into an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always safeguarded. What for decades had been “only” an exceptional technique thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.

In recent years his work has received important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious art festivals. Among them are notable appearances at the Contemporary Art Festival “Arte Venezia” in 2025, the collaboration with the VERUM Center for Art and Culture, and the inclusion of his works in the renowned private collection Fuser. From craftsman to signature of the Neo-Pop scene, Sagrasse demonstrates how a life’s experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression.
Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from the constraint of function, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, brilliant, ironic, and irresistibly modern.
Sagrasse’s work fits perfectly within the path of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the association with Banksy is evident for its strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret everyday icons or pop culture in a critical light, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, Richard Orlinski.
The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation.
It is a handcrafted work, conceived and made entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of entirely manual work.
It is advisable not to expose to heat sources; clean without using detergents, but only with a soft cloth.
