Back to 1500, a resin sculpture by Sagrasse (Italy), 2026, 30×20×20 cm, signed by hand, in a limited Black and Gold edition (499 copies), in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in masterful craft. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, mastering at the highest levels resin processing, varnishing, and chroming.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” an excellent technique thus becomes the means to give life to modern pop sculptures, vibrant and ironic. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.

In recent years his work has earned important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Among these, the presence at the Contemporary Art Exhibition “Arte Venezia” in 2025, the collaboration with the VERUM Center for Art and Culture, and the inclusion of his works within the renowned Private Collection Fuser stand out. From craftsman to a signature of the Neo-Pop landscape, Sagrasse demonstrates how a lifetime of experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression.
Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from the constraint of function, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which our society reflects itself: pop, brilliant, ironic, and irresistibly modern.
Sagrasse’s work fits perfectly in the path of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the association with Banksy is evident for its strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret icons of daily life or pop culture in a critical key, Sagrasse’s universe dialogs closely with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, and Richard Orlinski.
The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation.
It is a handmade work, conceived and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of entirely manual craftsmanship.
It is recommended not to expose to heat sources; clean with only a soft cloth, without detergents.
