Calavera Pop Art, a resin sculpture by Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti), Italy, 2024, 30×23×15 cm, edition in Fucsia limited to 299 copies, signed by hand with certificate of authenticity, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-born artist whose life has deep roots in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of the Marche region, specializing to the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and chroming.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “just” a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one's most authentic talent.

In recent years his work has received important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Notable among these are his presence at the Contemporary Art Exhibition "Arte Venezia" in 2025, collaboration with the VERUM Art and Culture Center, and the inclusion of his works within the renowned private collection Fuser. From artisan to signature of the Neo-Pop landscape, Sagrasse demonstrates how a life’s experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression.
Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from the constraint of function, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which our society reflects: pop, brilliant, ironic, and irresistibly modern.
Sagrasse’s work fits perfectly in the path of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the association with Banksy is evident for the strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret everyday icons or pop culture in a critical light, Sagrasse’s universe dialog similarly with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, Richard Orlinski.
The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation.
It is a handcrafted work, conceived and made entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of entirely manual workmanship.
It is recommended not to expose to heat sources; clean with a soft cloth only, without using detergents.
