The Longines Master Collection L2.669.4 is an elegant automatic chronograph with the classic look the Master Collection is known for. This version combines a 38.5 mm stainless steel case with a silver barleycorn dial, black Arabic numerals, characteristic feuille hands and two finely finished registers.

The chronograph function is subtly integrated into the design, keeping the dial calm and symmetrical despite the extra features. The date window is at 6 o’clock, and through the transparent case back the automatic Longines chronograph movement is visible.

Case

The round case is made of stainless steel and has a diameter of 38.5 mm.

This size gives the watch classic and balanced proportions. The relatively narrow, polished bezel leaves ample room for the dial, while the elegantly shaped lugs connect beautifully to the steel bracelet.

The case is mostly high-gloss polished and features the elegant, rounded form characteristic of the Master Collection.

On the right side are a fluted crown and two round chronograph pushers.

The case is in very neat used condition. There are light superficial wear marks on the polished parts, consistent with normal use. The shapes and edges of the case are nicely preserved.

Dial

The silver dial is one of the most characteristic parts of this watch.

The center section features a fine barleycorn / grains d’orge texture. The repeating pattern adds depth and makes the dial look slightly different depending on the light.

Hour markers are large black Arabic numerals. In combination with the black feuille hands, there is a strong contrast with the light background.

Chronograph

The L2.669.4 features an automatic chronograph with a classic bi-compax layout.

Register at 9 o’clock: 30-minute chronograph counter.
Register at 3 o’clock: small seconds for normal timekeeping.
The long central hand is used for the chronograph seconds.
The two registers are slightly recessed and feature fine concentric circular patterns. This makes them subtly stand out from the barleycorn texture of the central area.
The chronograph is operated with the two circular pushers above and below the crown.
The two-register layout provides a particularly balanced look and keeps the dial uncluttered.

The date window is at 6 o’clock.
The date is displayed with black numerals on a light background and is framed by a clear rectangular surround.
Its central position at 6 o’clock complements the symmetrical arrangement of the two registers.
