Mid‑century Italian Murano glass vanity or serving tray from the 1950s, featuring a cobalt blue perimetral glass frame, a central incised mirror with a bucolic galante scene, and two ornate gilded brass side handles, with overall dimensions 28 cm wide, 41 cm deep and 3 cm high.
Description from the seller
Refined and elegant vanity or serving tray with a mirror, a splendid example of mid-20th-century Venetian artistic craftsmanship (circa the 1950s), in the style of the famous Ercole Barovier workshop. The tray stands out for a magnificent cobalt blue Murano glass perimeter frame, finely handcrafted with the traditional torciglione (twisted cord) technique, which gives the piece extraordinary brilliance and depth of color. The central mirrored surface is enriched by a wheel-engraved detail depicting a classic eighteenth-century “galant” scene, with figures in 18th-century attire immersed in a bucolic landscape with trees and fences. The design is completed by two elegant and sturdy brass handles gilded in gold, finely decorated with Baroque volute motifs, which facilitate handling and enhance its decorative “Hollywood Regency” character. The back presents its original era support structure. A glass art piece of great charm and visual impact, perfect both as a collectible item and as an exclusive furnishing accessory for classic or modern interiors. Details and Specifications: Origin: Italy (Murano, Venice) Era: 1950s (Mid-Century) Materials: Murano artistic glass, engraved mirror, brass, back support structure Colors: cobalt blue.
