LeYack, Belle de jour - Hand signed, is a limited edition of 20 in digital painting, 60 x 40 cm, 2026, hand-signed with a certificate of authenticity, shipped from France.
Description from the seller
A light blue sports coupe, long and low, stopped in the middle of a deserted Paris square. A blonde woman, dark sunglasses, a tawny suede jacket, leans halfway out of the window and rests her forearms on the door frame. Behind her: pale façades with slate roofs, streetlamps, a column at the far end of the square, a few tiny passersby.
Nothing in the image indicates where she is going or where she comes from, and that is precisely the subject. The dark sunglasses suppress the gaze; the red lips are the sole opening on her face; under a perfectly smooth elegance, we will learn nothing. It’s the device of Kessel then Buñuel—the impeccably neat façade and the second life off-screen. The car body blue and the sky blue respond to each other from one end to the other, the ochre of the jacket serving as the only counterpoint.
The bodywork is the real painting: built up in successive glazes, with architectural reflections laid out in long light bands that follow the curve. The façades, by contrast, are rendered in a dry, matte, almost chalky paste. The spoke-wheel rays are picked out, one by one, with a fine brush.
