Description from the seller
Elegant figurative group depicting the Three Graces, made in white biscuit porcelain by Hertwig & Co., Katzhütte, in Thuringia, Germany.
The composition features three nude young women, with graceful and intertwined poses, forming a particularly harmonious ensemble. The modeling of the bodies, the hairstyles, and the drapery laid on the base attest to the neoclassical inspiration of this model.
The piece bears an incised mark under the base, characteristic of Hertwig & Co. of Katzhütte.
A charming example of a small biscuit porcelain sculpture by Hertwig & Co. Katzhütte, suitable for both a collection of German porcelains and classical decoration.
Note: the head of the figurine is glued on; everything else is in excellent condition.
