Description from the seller
The Way of the Pop, Lacrymal, 2022
The Way of the Pop is an original acrylic painting on canvas from 2022 by French artist Lacrymal (Jimmy). The work is part of his Urban Pop series, in which he combines elements of street art with the visual language of pop art.
In the piece a religious depiction of Christ with the cross is combined with a distinctive visual language of vivid colors, graphic patterns and black symbols. The classical subject is thus placed within a contemporary visual language that strongly aligns with pop and street art.
Lacrymal was born in 1990 in Aubervilliers, France, and began as a self-taught artist from street art. He painted walls in his hometown and combined painted figures with collages and digitally altered and printed elements. In his paintings he translates this street art practice onto canvas.
Since 2018 Jimmy has used the name Lacrymal for his paintings. The name refers to the tear gland. His work has been exhibited in several European countries.
The painting is sent rolled in a sturdy tube. The canvas is not stretched on a frame. It is carefully packaged and shipped insured.
