Description from the seller
You feel it before you understand why. Three sets of eyes hold you from the canvas — and just at the edge, cut off by the frame, a fourth face is there too, close enough to almost see, close enough to know she's real. No matter where you stand in the room, one of them is always finding yours.
I broke every face into fragments of color because that's the only honest way I know to paint a person — not as one fixed thing, but as everything they've been at once. Four faces sharing one canvas, one of them barely visible, like the part of yourself you know is there but can never quite bring fully into view.
I think that's why people stop in front of this piece and don't move for a while. It isn't asking to be admired. It's asking to be recognized — and once you notice the fourth one, the one just out of frame, you start to wonder what else you're not quite seeing.
This is a piece for someone who's tired of walls that stay quiet. Hang Watched where you'll walk past it every day, and let it keep looking back.
I'm Corina Dinu (b. 1979, Romanian), trained in Fine Arts and at Istituto Marangoni, with previous sales through Tate Gallery London, Rippingham Art Gallery London, Saatchi Art, and Catawiki.
