A particularly atmospheric vintage table lamp from the German Honsel Leuchten, finished with a shiny brass-colored base and a generous, half-round shade made of white opal glass.

The combination of the classically shaped base and the sleekly curved glass dome gives this lamp a timeless look. The design evokes the classic library, hotel, and bankers’ lamps, but the large white dome makes it noticeably softer and more elegant in form.

The broad shade of matte/opal white glass diffuses the light beautifully. When the lamp is lit, the entire dome glows warmly and creates pleasant, calm ambient lighting. Consequently, it is very suitable for a desk, sideboard, nightstand, sidetable or reading nook.

Honsel is a well-known name in the German lighting industry. In historical Fischer & Honsel catalogs, several table lamps can be found that combine brass-colored metal with opal- or alabaster-colored glass. The use of a maximum of 40 watts also recurs across multiple models.

Design
The lamp features a beautifully profiled, glossy brass-colored base with a classical baluster-shaped stem. Above it sits the large, low dome shade in white matte glass. A brass-colored knob on top completes the design.

It is precisely the proportion between the relatively heavy round base and the broad, almost floating glass shade that gives this lamp its characteristic appearance.

The original brass-colored electrical cord is equipped with a practical cord switch. The lamp has been tested and functions, as shown in the photos.

Condition
Good vintage condition with normal signs of use and age. On the glass shade there are some superficial signs of wear. Please also carefully review the detail photos; they form an important part of the condition description.
