Henri Elwing
Born in Paris in 1925, the only son of Polish parents. After a brilliant schooling, the desire to pursue photography was stronger and he became an indispensable photographer for ELLE Magazine from 1955 to 1985, with the ambition to make photos that bear witness to the true nature of the photographed, their idiosyncrasies, their joys… never paparazzi photos, always photos consented by his subjects.

Born in Paris in 1925, Henri Elwing was the only son of Polish parents. After completing his education with outstanding brilliancy, his desire to be a photographer outweighed everything and he became one of ELLE Magazine’s greatest photographers from 1955 to 1985, nurturing the ambition of taking photos which expressed a photographed person’s true self, their idiosyncrasies, their joys… never any paparazzi shots, only ever pictures his subjects agreed to.
