Barche a vela, an oil on panel maritime landscape from 1960–1970 by Luciano Fregonara (1932), Italy; original edition, in good condition, 35 x 30 cm, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
I am selling a suggestive oil painting on panel depicting a harbor at sunset. The work stands out for its thick, tactile brushwork (impasto/spatula technique), capable of capturing splendid plays of light and golden reflections on the water surface.
In the foreground is portrayed a boat moored at the pier, while in the background two sailing ships stand out, sailing toward a hilly coastline illuminated by the last lights of the day.
Technique: Oil on panel (textured, high-relief brushwork)
Subject: Seascape / Sailing boats at sunset
Style: Post-impressionist / Macchiaiolo
Signature: Present, artist’s signature at the lower left (FREGONARA)
Framing: Complete with a gilded/silvered wooden frame and light-toned passe-partout, ready to hang
Conditions: Excellent overall condition of both painting and frame (as shown in the photo)
Notes: Perfect as a decor piece for living rooms, studies, seaside homes, or for maritime painting enthusiasts and collectors.
