Pino Silvestre, a limited edition paper print by Natali Wood from Spain, created in 2026 using the Yakisugi technique on paper, 100 × 125 cm.
Description from the seller
Pine Silvestre belongs to the series Footprints in the Forest, a project in which recovered wood becomes a matrix and leaves its own imprint on paper.
For this work I used a cut of Pine Silvestre, worked with the traditional Japanese technique Yakisugi, which consists of carbonizing the surface of the wood to reveal and enhance its natural structure.
The matrix preserves the shapes, cracks, irregularities and growth rings of the tree. Each of these marks becomes part of the final image, making the tree itself the origin and protagonist of the engraving.
The print is made manually in engraving ink of burnt earth tone, on high-quality paper. Variations in ink intensity and the small irregularities of the print form part of the character of the work and evidence its artisanal process.
This is a limited edition, signed and numbered by the artist.
A large-format piece in which the passage of time is recorded in every ring: years of growth turned into a single imprint on paper.
Dimensions of the work: 100 × 125 cm.
Technique: engraving from Pine Silvestre wood matrix / Yakisugi
Ink: engraving ink, burnt-earth tone
Support: high-quality art paper
