Brand: pocket watch; Model: Remontoir Perfection – Chronomètre; Period: late 19th to early 20th century; Movement: manual winding.
Description from the seller
Swiss pocket watch “Remontoir Perfection – Chronomètre”, late 19th / early 20th century, with a chain.
Beautiful antique pocket watch of Swiss manufacture, bearing on the outer case the inscriptions “REMONTOIR – PERFECTION – FABRICATION SUISSE”.
The watch features an elegant hunter-style case with a double lid, richly decorated with engraved motifs and swirls. The outer back also presents a particularly ornate decoration with several ornamental motifs.
The old dial, cream-colored, bears large black Arabic numerals as well as an inner red-minute scale. The inscription “CHRONOMÈTRE” appears at the center of the dial.
The case shows a beautiful patina and seems to be made of a coppery alloy, probably brass. No aggressive cleaning or polishing has been performed: I have deliberately preserved the patina and the signs of time to maintain the authenticity and vintage aspect of the piece. Any possible cleaning or aesthetic restoration can be undertaken by the future owner according to their taste.
Condition and operation
The watch has been wound and started running. It ran continuously for more than 24 hours and it is still running at the time of writing this description.
Warning: its operation was observed over a period of time, but the watch has not been serviced or checked by a watchmaker. Its accuracy, power reserve, and long-term mechanical condition are therefore not guaranteed.
The movement is mechanical and visible in the photographs and appears complete.
The watch is accompanied by its antique chain, which harmoniously completes the ensemble.
A beautiful antique piece with definite decorative and historical character, particularly interesting for a collector of Swiss antique pocket watches.
Dimensions: approximately 50 mm in diameter excluding the crown and pendant.
Movement: manual-winding mechanical.
Origin: Switzerland.
Case: coppery/brass alloy, to be confirmed.
Function: currently working, not serviced.
Accessory: antique chain included.
