Medsan, Kintsugi Hannya Mask (金継ぎの般若), 40 × 40 cm, giclée on canvas, unique edition 1/1, hand-signed, France, 2026, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1
In this square format, Medsan isolates a Hannya demon mask on a deep black background where nothing else is discernible. The face, a very pale greenish white, occupies almost the entire frame and smiles with teeth showing: two rows of bright teeth, fangs at the corners, and lips in a vivid red surrounding the open mouth. Round eyes, gold with a black pupil, outlined by an orange line, stare straight ahead under frowning brows. Two horns rise from either side of the forehead; the left horn is cleanly broken and hollow at its tip.
A fine network of dark cracks runs across the entire surface of the face, crossed by broad gold lines that descend from the skull to the cheeks, bypass the eyes and join the chin and the horns. In the lower right, the cartouche メドサン, traced in red. A frontal presence, halted in the darkness.
A dark, frontal piece, ideal for bringing a Japanese, graphic touch to a collector’s interior attached to strong figures.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a workshop of artists gathered around a living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a genuine artistic production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective work with cinematic and realistic influences. Beside him, Medsan, oriented toward Pop Art painting, explores color, modern iconography and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive research, mixing abstract art, Outsider Art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, realized and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
Keywords:
Medsan, Atelier Joconde, Le Yack, mask hannya, hannya, Noh mask, Japanese demon, kintsugi, Japanese folklore, gold, red, black, Square format, Contemporary, Unique work, 1/1
Ambient visual created by artificial intelligence to illustrate wall rendering (non-contractual).
