On this square format, Medsan launches the Chatbus from My Neighbor Totoro onto a long stone viaduct, in the middle of a downpour. The creature jets to the left, nose forward, its wide cat-like smile opened beneath amber windows; the row of paws runs under its belly along the track and an orange trail stretches behind it on the rails.

Around, the valley fades away in the slant rain: wooded hills stacked one behind the other, a white cascade falling among the pines, curling clouds and a pale moon above the ridges. The arches of the viaduct plunge into thick mist. In the foreground on the right, a mottled stone lantern covered in moss rises among the bamboo bent by the wind, and a vermilion cartouche bears Japanese characters at the top right. At the bottom left, the cartouche メドサン. The whole scene sits in deep blues and pale grays, only the orange of the windows and the red of the cartouche piercing through. A brief passage, in the sound of the water.
