On this vertical format, Medsan spins two black koi carps in a circle that almost fills the surface. The left one descends head first, fins widely spread, the dark body marked with a few light spots; the right one climbs along the edge, its slender tail pointing upward. Together, they close the circle and frame a night scene.

Inside, a Japanese garden beside a pond. A crescent moon rises in a night-blue sky studded with stars, above trees with rounded silhouettes. Two stone lanterns illuminate the bank with a warm yellow that trails across the calm water. The pond, pale green and blue, bears water lilies and clumps of tall grasses.
