Description from the seller

AMA • Pope (1985) - "Aurora Authentic Fake" - 12/30

The only Fake truly authentic!

Following the undeniable success of the series "Aurora Borealis" often copied and under threat of censorship on the pretext of "counterfeiting", the artist Pope returns with a creation even freer and more provocative.

Since luxury brands want to muzzle artistic expression, here is the flamboyant snub: Aurora Authentic Fake. A unique pop art lamp, where one can read in full letters "DO NOT BUY" and "FAKE"… In other words an invitation to bid!

By day, a chromed teddy bear with a futuristic shine.
By night, an explosion of multicolored auroras that set your walls ablaze.
Two faces, one irony.

Edition limited to 30 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with certificate of authenticity.
Fast and careful shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper and reinforced cardboard) with signed-for delivery.

Specifications:
- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (static, fading transitions, simple transitions)
- Power supply via USB cord with switch (included)
- Height: 20 cm
- Width: 9 cm
- Depth: 9 cm

A collector’s object that distorts censorship into art, and turns the "Aurora Authentic Fake" into a true original.

Who is Pope?

Pope, cofounder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a practice of visual arts since childhood, a high standard of detail and meticulous visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and wonder-filled gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.

Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from movements of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few.

Whether it’s a gift, a keepsake, or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited editions or not), addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (bitcoin, ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, products of the food and fashion industries (sport, sneakers...), brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope loves to mischievously parody brands such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.

Dear bidders, our collective is making every effort to ensure that all information necessary to evaluate the lot sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no justified complaint will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
