Model Overview

A distinctive vintage Eterna Galaxis, combining classic Swiss watchmaking heritage with the bold integrated design language of the late 1980s/1990s. This elegant 29 mm example features a deep blue minimalist dial, gold-tone hands, date display and the characteristic blue and gold-tone segmented Galaxis bezel.

The integrated stainless-steel bracelet gives the watch a refined jewellery-watch character while remaining unmistakably Eterna. At 29 mm, it works particularly well as a mid-size/unisex vintage watch and is considerably less common than Eterna’s mainstream collections.

Dial & Case

The dial is deliberately minimalist, without conventional hour markers, giving the watch a clean and sophisticated appearance. The famous Eterna five-dot emblem and ETERNA signature are positioned at 12 o’clock, with “Swiss Made” at 6.

The most striking element is undoubtedly the bezel. Its polished gold-tone structure is divided by rich blue inserts that change noticeably according to the light, from dark navy to vivid cobalt blue.

Together with the integrated bracelet, this creates a very characteristic late-20th-century luxury aesthetic.

Bracelet & Clasp

The watch retains its original integrated Eterna stainless-steel bracelet, including the Eterna-signed folding clasp.

Importantly, the bracelet is full and complete, suitable for wrists up to approximately 20 cm, making this a particularly practical example for collectors.

Historical & Collector Context

Eterna is one of Switzerland’s historically important watch manufacturers. Its famous five-dot emblem refers to the five ball bearings used in the revolutionary Eterna-Matic rotor system, introduced in the late 1940s.

The Galaxis represents the more design-driven side of the manufacture. Instead of Eterna’s better-known tool-watch aesthetic, it combines integrated architecture, jewellery-inspired detailing and strong blue decorative elements.

Today, these unconventional vintage Eterna models are particularly interesting for collectors looking beyond the usual Swiss brands and references.

Condition Report

The watch is in good vintage condition, with normal signs of age and previous use. Surface scratches and wear are visible on the stainless-steel case, bracelet and caseback, consistent with a watch of this age. Please study the detailed photographs, which form an important part of the condition description.

The attractive blue dial presents well, and the blue/gold bezel remains particularly striking. The original integrated bracelet and signed Eterna clasp are present.

The caseback bears the period inscription - removable- cleaned.

The quartz movement is working at the time of listing. Service history is unknown. Water resistance has not been tested and is therefore not guaranteed.
