Beatrice Riva - Vento

Wind is born from the meeting between the human face and the movement of matter.

The image was built by the artist by digitally overlaying in Photoshop two photographs taken personally: a face and the drapery of a skirt, used as a plastic element to wrap and transform the figure.

The fabric thus becomes something more than a simple garment: it seems to drift through the face like a current of air, deforming its contours and making the distinction between body and matter uncertain.

The eyes, intense and almost motionless, emerge from this moving surface, creating a contrast between the force of the wind and the stillness of the gaze.

The palette reduced to shades of gray, green, and black accentuates the suspended, introspective atmosphere of the work, while drips, marks, and imperfections of the surface contribute to giving it a tactile and expressive dimension.

Wind reflects a search for identity, transformation, and the fragile boundary between what belongs to the body and what passes through it.
