Bedini Tarcisio (Ostra, March 25, 1929 – Rome, October 26, 1962)
The artist belongs to the family of decorators and painters of the Bedini family, son of Marcantonio. After an apprenticeship in his father's workshop, Tarcisio studied in Macerata at the “Tirocinio d’arte”, in Rome at the Beato Angelico Academy and at the Academy of Fine Arts where he obtained the diploma. His painting: decorative in character with predominantly sacred themes, and restoration. He loves Impressionist painting, and in particular that of Cézanne, whose tendencies he would retain until his death. Where he was artistically active: in his home region, Macerata, Catanzaro, Rome. Some of his works: about eighty (or perhaps a little more) oil paintings remain by him and numerous drawings made with pencil, charcoal, chalk, pastels and ink. We recall two of his frescoes: that in the church of S. Antonio in Settebagni (province of Rome – 1959) and that in the council chamber of the Catanzaro town hall (1961).
