Metamorphosis is a unique hand-made bas-relief sculpture by Salvatore Alibrio in terracotta with a bronze patina and metallic gold, bronze, multicolour and turquoise tones, measuring 14 cm by 21 cm with a depth of 5 cm, signed by hand and supplied with a certificate of authenticity from Italy.
Description from the seller
Unique handmade piece
This bas-relief sculpture by Salvatore Alibrio depicts an expressive face that struggles to emerge from the material. The features of the face — the eye, nose and lips — blend directly into the fluid folds of the rectangular surface, with no distinction between figure and support, conveying a deep psychological turmoil.
Colorwise, the work plays on the contrast between metallic tones (gold and bronze) on the reliefs and the teal/turquoise tones deposited in the cavities. This effect simulates the patina of verdigris and oxidation, giving the sculpture an ancient and tactile, material appearance. Light on the gilded points creates deep shadows that enhance its three-dimensionality.
Bronze-effect patinated terracotta sculpture, ideal for stylishly decorating both classical and contemporary interiors
The technique used is the traditional clay modeling followed by kiln firing, so this is not a 3D printing.
The work is part of a new series currently in research and development by Italian sculptor Salvatore Alibrio, born in 1991.
He graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania in 2017; he works in painting and sculpture.
Don't miss the opportunity to add this unique piece to your collection, entirely made in Italy
The work will be supplied with a certificate of authenticity and will be shipped inside a rigid protective shell
