Description from the seller
Laurena Dier, Austria
“FIRST MOVE”, 2026
Acrylic on canvas
50 × 40 cm (H × W)
Unique piece
“First Move” is an expressive figurative portrait that combines classical portrait painting with a graphic-reduced, contemporary visual language. The frontal male figure is characterized by bold outlines, deliberately placed color fields, and an intense palette of pink, violet, black, gray, and warm skin tones.
The deliberately unnatural color scheme and the visible brushwork cause parts of the face to recede from realistic depiction, giving the work an immediate, almost plakative presence. The calm, self-assured gaze of the figure contrasts with the lively, multi-layered background.
This work is part of the figurative works by Laurena Dier / dila.vin studio, whose visual language is shaped by expressive faces, strong color contrasts, and a blend of figuration and graphic abstraction.
Signature: signed on the front, bottom left.
Provenance: directly from the artist’s studio.
Documentation: authenticity certificate available or will be handed over with the work.
Condition: very good, near-new condition.
Shipping: stretched on canvas stretcher and unframed.
About the artist
Laurena Dier is an Austrian artist and designer who works under the name dila.vin studio. Her education in media and graphic design shapes her distinctive fusion of painting, color, and graphic imagery.
Central to her work are expressive, often strongly cropped portraits and figures. Bold outlines, deliberately unnatural skin tones, intense color contrasts, and free, sometimes abstract areas meet unusual perspectives and an immediate, gestural painting style. Laurena is less interested in the classical likeness of a person than in their presence, posture, and emotional tension.
In 2026 her works were shown among the Trauner KUNST Stücken and as part of a charity art exhibition at Lokschuppm Klaus. Other works were presented in the Gmunden region in 2026; and in October 2026 a group exhibition is planned at OKH Vöcklabruck. Several original works are already in private ownership.
In addition to her independent artistic activity, Laurena works professionally in graphics and visual communication. Under dila.vin studio she continuously develops her figurative-expressive visual language and increasingly focuses on large-format works with strong spatial presence.
